Iconic Hot Dog Stand Celebrates 100 Years
Three days of fun including a hot dog eating contest, free dogs to customers wearing Walter's swag and a chance to win prizes

MAMARONECK, NY — Iconic for many reasons, Walter's Hot Dogs is celebrating 100 years in operation. First behind Mamaroneck High School in a pagoda, and now also in White Plains and Stamford, the family has dispensed fried hot dogs with mustard and a variety of fries to customers happy to stand in line or to send postcards from away.
The 100th anniversary celebration kicks off Sunday. There will be live music, fun for the kids, and a commemorative cup (while supplies last), then a hot dog eating contest at 3 p.m.
Customer Appreciation Day is Monday. At all three locations, dollar dogs.
