Interim Principal Chosen for Rye Neck High School

The current principal is slated to become the district superintendent.

MAMARONECK, NY — An interim principal has been chosen for Rye Neck High School.

Dr. Scott Mosenthal was appointed by the board of education at its Dec. 7 meeting.

According to information on the district’s website, Mosenthal will replace Dr. Barbara Ferraro, the current principal and assistant superintendent for curriculum, who will become the new superintendent of schools.

Mosenthal, who will begin in the interim position Jan. 3, 2017, was a principal in the Irvington Union Free School District for 15 years, in addition to being an English teacher in the middle and high schools for 23 years.

While in the Irvington district, he was the English department chairman who was responsible for classroom observation and teacher evaluation, as well as curriculum and staff development, student discipline and building management.

Mosenthal was also a coach of the varsity indoor track team and junior varsity basketball and football teams.
