LARCHMONT, NY — What started as an innovative way to entice foot traffic to Larchmont stores soon after the grey skies of winter are replaced by spring flowers, has become a Sound Shore institution that is now a treasured way to mark the season with verve.

The Larchmont Chamber of Commerce is again hosting the Arts on the Avenues, monthlong exhibition in April featuring the works of Westchester artists displayed at local businesses. The kickoff celebration will take place at Addison Park next to CVS on April 2, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

This collaboration between artists and local businesses will create a strolling gallery in the Larchmont business district with special events for kids and grownups alike to enjoy.

Highlights of the family-friendly events include a children’s art scavenger hunt with prizes held during spring break from April 11, to 18. Guided walking tours are scheduled throughout the month, weather permitting. Artist and curator talks will be held at participating businesses.
