Larchmont Chanukah Walk On Stride For This Weekend, Chart Your Course

This year will be the second annual Chanukah Village Walk, a growing custom that includes even more of the people in our neighborhood.

LARCHMONT, NY — Following last year's successful inaugural event, Larchmont's second annual Chanukah Walk will offer even more of a good thing.

Although they are usually open to everyone, public menorah lighting events can be a little intimidating to those without a complete understanding of the observance — a relatively new tradition is helping to bring the celebration to the wider community in Hudson Valley towns and villages.

Now that the map has been released, excitement is mounting for the second annual Larchmont Village Chanukah Walk this Sunday. Everyone, young and old, is invited to join in the fun.

At 3:45 p.m., partygoers will head towards Constitution Park where they will watch the carving of an ice menorah, get some latkes and donuts, and light the menorah at 4:30 p.m. with hundreds of families in the community.

Newly elected Mayor of Larchmont Sarah Bauer and Town of Mamaroneck Supervisor Jaine Elkind Eney will share greetings.
