Larchmont Historical Society’s Annual House Tour Set

The tour features five turn-of-the-century Larchmont homes.

LARCHMONT, NY — The Larchmont Historical Society is inviting the community to cozy up to the fireplace at some of Larchmont’s most coveted century residences at its annual House Tour from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 6. A reception will follow at the Larchmont Yacht Club from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The “Fireplaces and Inspiring Spaces” tour will welcome people to visit five, never before featured, turn-of-the-century Larchmont homes.

All homes promise to delight with stunning period details, remarkable fireplaces, interiors, and inspiring art collections, as well as authentic and reproduction pieces to make even the most seasoned interior-design enthusiast swoon, according to organizers.

A wide array of architectural genres and decades will be represented, including Prairie-Style, Dutch Colonial Revival, Shingle-Style and Mediterranean. A notable former owner includes Hall of Fame New York Yankees General Manager and President Ed Barrow from 1923 to 1945.

“We’re thrilled to showcase to the public the grandeur, beauty and historical significance of these homes,” said Susan Emery, co-president of Larchmont Historical Society. “From the most modern renovation to stepping into a time-capsule, this year’s tour will prove to be exceptionally interesting and will offer inspiration for all who attend.”

Tickets are on sale now at larchmonthistory.org or can be purchased in person at the Gazebo in Constitution Park the day of the tour. Discounted tickets are offered for all historcial society members, as well as an early bird discount. Tickets are $55 for Larchmont Historical Society members and $65 for non-members prior to April 20 and $75 thereafter. The price of the tickets includes a reusable Larchmont Historical Society tote bag and a beverage and hors d’oeuvres at the reception.

Paintings and photographs by local artists will be on display and for sale at the reception following the tour. The reception will also feature raffle prizes and special silent auction items.
