The local Lions also provided free vision screenings at the Mamaroneck Public Library.

Larchmont Mamaroneck Lions Club volunteers took thousands of collected eyeglasses to the Lions all-volunteer Eyeglass Recycling Center in Trenton, New Jersey May 11. LM Lions served as volunteers in this recycle process and filled orders from humanitarian service organizations around the world. The ready-to-wear glasses are provided at no cost.
At the May 15 Lions meeting, more than 1,100 glasses from the day's recycling process were presented to the Voluntary Health Program. The local VHP provides free medical, surgical eye care and glasses to rural areas in the Dominican Republic.
Larchmont and Mamaroneck residents can deposit their old glasses in Lions recycle boxes in businesses around town and at the Larchmont and Mamaroneck libraries, post offices and municipal offices.
