Larchmont, Mamaroneck: Your Election Day Ballots
Here's information you'll need to be prepared for Election Day Tuesday.

Larchmont and Mamaroneck voters will head to the polls this Tuesday, Nov. 4 for the 2014 midterm election.
On the ballot, registered voters will be able to select candidates for governor and lieutenant governor, a representative to U.S. Congress, state senator, state assembly, comptroller, attorney general, state supreme court justice and local councilman.
There is no election for the U.S. Senate this year in New York.

Voters will also choose ‘yea’ or ‘nay’ on three statewide propositions. Two are amendments to the New York State Constitution.
The first would revise how election districts are redrawn after every Census. It includes the formation of a redistricting commission that would conduct statewide public hearings and then develop a plan based on specific criteria including: contiguous and compact district boundaries, an equal number of people in each district, protection of communities of interest.

The second would allow the legislature to distribute copies of pending bills—there were 18,000 this past year, according to Assemblywoman Sandra Galef—over the Internet. Now paper copies are constitutionally mandated.
The third proposition asks voters to OK a $2 billion bond for education. Mostly for school technology, the money could also be used for constructing and modernizing facilities and installing high-tech security.
There are several uncontested races at the local and state level, and even U.S. Rep. Eliot Engel (D-16th), so those candidates are not listed. Congratulations in advance to those winners.
