Larchmont Native to Become Long Island Bishop
He is currently a bishop in Pennsylvania.
LARCHMONT, NY — A Larchmont native has been named the next bishop of Rockville Centre.
Allentown, PA, Bishop John Barres will succeed Bishop William Murphy, 76, who is retiring, the Journal News said.
The Long Island diocese serves 1.45 million Catholics.
