Larchmont Playhouse Back on the Market

A Bronxville man had hoped to reopen the movie house but has backed out of negotiations.

LARCHMONT, NY — Don’t expect the Larchmont Playhouse to reopen any time soon.

Michael DiCosimo of Bronxville had hoped to buy the theater but he has backed out of negotiations for the purchase, the Journal News said.

The Palmer Avenue property is now back on the market for $1.5 million.

Former owner Regal Cinemas had a 15-year restrictive clause for any futures sales that would have prevented first-run movies to be shown at the Playhouse.

Regal Cinemas has movie theaters in nearby New Rochelle.
