UJA-Federation of New York’s Larchmont-Mamaroneck community recently honored Joy and Steven Zelin of Larchmont at its annual community event. The evening also celebrated the community’s work on behalf of the organization, which supports nearly 100 health, human-service, educational, and community agencies. More than 150 guests attended the gathering, which took place at Larchmont Temple on Wednesday, June 5, 2013.
Active and committed leaders in UJA-Federation in Westchester, Joy serves as Larchmont-Mamaroneck Women’s Philanthropy divisional chair and served as area chair for three years. Steven is active in UJA-Federation, AJC, and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
Joy is a longtime volunteer in the Mamaroneck School system, most recently at Mamaroneck High School, where she volunteers in the College Information Center. Steven volunteers for the community little leagues, coaching soccer, basketball, baseball, and softball. He is senior managing director in the Restructuring & Reorganization Group at Blackstone.
“I look around this room and I feel so blessed that we are raising our children in this community,” said Joy. “With our donations, UJA-Federation helps 4.5 million people around the world, including those in our own backyard.”
