How did you come up with the name? My nickname since I was a child was Emster, so Emster's Paws just made sense.

Why start a business in this town? I love shopping local, so why not start a local business? I live in New Rochelle, so I decided to stay within the three towns.

What business are you in? We are a full-service pet-sitting business, offering walks, training, house sitting, park trips as well as pet transport.

What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner? Staffing has always been my most difficult part of my business. I only hire the best of the best.

What’s been your proudest achievement since opening? Our growth is my proudest achievement, as well as our reputation of being "the" dog walkers to call. I started this business seven years ago working nights and weekends, and now I have left my full-time job, run my business full-time, have 21 employees and LOVE what we do every day.

How does your business give back to the community? We participate in local events, such as the fundraiser for Sheldrake. We give our time to the local rescues and the humane society, as well as donations and networking to find animals homes.
