Larchmont's Down to Earth Farmers Market Launches May 9
The annual market - located in the Metro-North parking deck off of Chatsworth Avenue - is celebrating its 10th year.

Larchmont’s Down to Earth Farmers Market begins the 2015 season Saturday, May 9, in the Metro-North parking deck off of Chatsworth Avenue, organizers announced.
This year is the market’s 10th and to celebrate, Down to Earth Markets will host a Make Mom a Card table for kids to create a keepsake for Mother’s Day. Popular guitarist, Ed Packer, will play from 10 a.m. to noon. And Green Tree Textiles will debut at the market, accepting clothes, shoes, and accessories for donations or recycling.
The Larchmont Farmers Market takes place every Saturday, through December 19th, in the Metro North parking lot off of Chatsworth Ave. Market hours are 8:30 am-1 pm.

Green Tree Textiles will appear at the Larchmont Farmers Market on the first Saturday of every month in the market season. Serge Lazarev founded the organization in 2010 when he learned that only 15 percent of textile waste in the U.S. is recycled. Now Green Tree Textiles keeps thousands of pounds of unwanted clothes and textiles out of our overburdened landfills every month.
In 2015, the theme of Down to Earth Farmers Markets is Every Food Has a Season. Every week at the Larchmont Farmers Market, local farmers and food makers bring the freshest foods of the seasonal harvest. It’s said that we never swim in the same river twice. Likewise, we never visit the same Larchmont Farmers Market from one week to another. As the seasons change, Down to Earth Markets’ recipe program will feature full market-sourced meals with something for vegetarians and omnivores alike. Customers are invited to explore the seasons through one dish or all.
