The winning posters will advance through the district, multiple district and international levels of competition.

MAMARONECK, NY — Four area young people have won the Lions International Peace Poster Contest sponsored by the Lions Clubs of Larchmont and Mamaroneck and New Rochelle. Griffin Anderson, a student at Rye Neck School, Shelsey Blanc, a student at Saints John & Paul School and Laszlo Somlay, a student at The French-American School, sponsored by the Larchmont and Mamaroneck Lions Clubs, and Olivia Moxey, a student at Albert Leonard Middle School, sponsored by the New Rochelle Lions Club, have taken the first step to becoming an internationally recognized artist by winning their local competitions.

The Lions International Peace Poster Contest is an annual worldwide competition for 11- to 13-year-olds, encouraging them to express their visions of world peace through art.

Last year’s competition had more than 600,000 entries. This year’s 30th Anniversary International winner will be announced at a United Nations event next spring, honoring the Lions on their Centennial Year.
