Lions Peace Poster Contest Kicks Off With 'Flash Art' Fun
The Larchmont Mamaroneck Lions are partnering with local middle schools for the 2021-22 Lions Peace Poster Contest.

LARCHMONT, NY — The Larchmont Mamaroneck Lions chose the perfect setting to announce the start of their annual student art contest.
The Larchmont Mamaroneck Lions are again partnering with all four local middle schools for the 2021-22 Lions Peace Poster Contest. Students from Hommocks Middle School, The French-American School, Saints John & Paul Middle School and Rye Neck Middle School will participate in this year's competition.
The theme for this year’s competition will be “We Are All Connected."

The contest officially got underway at the Larchmont Arts Festival on Saturday. Kids attending the fair were invited to do their own "flash art" onsite.
The Lions International Peace Poster Contest is an annual worldwide competition open to children ages 11 to 13. Organizers say the goal of the competition is to encourage a new generation to express their vision of world peace through art.

Local artists will determine winners from each school, along with two runners up in early November. The winning entries from each school will be entered into the International Lions competition. The winner of the international contest will be announced at the United Nations in March.
The posters created by the local winners and runners up will be displayed in their schools and local libraries.
The LM Lions are part of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization of about 1.4 million members. Its five core causes are eye health, hunger, the environment, diabetes and childhood cancer; they are also signatories of the United Nations resolutions on women’s and refugee rights.
