Lions And Steaks Help Girl Scouts Make World A Better Place

LARCHMONT-MAMARONECK — A successful month of "Dine Out for Charity" fundraising at Sedona Taphouse and a matching donation from the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Lions will mean a boost for a group busy building future leaders.

The LM Lions teamed up with Sedona Taphouse and their Mondays "Dine Out for Charity" to help support The Girl Scouts of Larchmont Mamaroneck. The Mamaroneck restaurant dedicates a full month of Mondays throughout the year in support of local charities and service groups. For the month of October, Sedona raised $1268 to help support the Girl Scouts. The Lions matched that donation up to $1000, making a combined total donation of $2268 to local Girl Scouts.

More than 400 girls in Larchmont, Mamaroneck and Rye Neck are a part of the Larchmont Mamaroneck Girl Scouts. The organization has a stated goal of building girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.

The donation will help the Girl Scouts to expand their STEM, outdoor activities, entrepreneurship and life skills initiatives. The funds will also help provide more opportunities for community service projects and chances to explore leadership roles.

In addition to supporting the Larchmont Girl Scout House, the donations will help to fund scholarships to allow all girls to participate in Girl Scouts, regardless of their financial situation.
