Lower Speed Limits, New Crosswalks With An Aim To Save Lives
Mamaroneck is taking steps to help keep students and pedestrians safer at notorious trouble spots around the village.
MAMARONECK, NY — Nearly two years after convincing the Mamaroneck Board to lower speed limits in the village to 25 MPH, Mayor Tom Murphy is ushering in new steps to improve traffic safety, based on Vision Zero traffic assessments.
In a four to one vote, the board approved a resolution allowing work to begin on a slew of pedestrian safety projects in the village.
A major overhaul is already planned for the corner of Fenimore and Prospect streets. The project will help protect pedestrians at the busy intersection.
