Mamaroneck, Rye Neck 2019-20 Budgets Pass

Voters went to the polls Tuesday to decide on school budgets and board members.

MAMARONECK, NY — Voters in the Mamaroneck school district approved the $139.9 million budget for the 2019-20 school year. According to unofficial results, the budget was approved 1,605 to 252.

The budget was 0.7 percent more than the current spending plan and the tax levy increase was 0.9 percent, which was within the state mandated tax cap.

Four candidates were vying for two seats on the board of education. They were Christian Zambrano and Rina Beder. Also on the ballot were Luis Quiros and Tania Thomas.


Voters in the Rye Neck school district approved the $43 million budget for the 2019-20 school year. According to unofficial results, the budget was approved 725 to 196.

The budget was 4.16 percent more than the current spending plan and the tax levy increase was 3.35 percent, which was within the state mandated tax cap.

Three candidates were vying for two seats. The winners were Pietro Fasolino and Gloria Spedafino Golle. Also on the ballot was Lourdes Rios-Hollmann.
