New courses announced and an evening with Timothy Geithner on Monday, Sept. 15.

Press release:

The Center for Continuing Education in Mamaroneck is mailing their Fall Course Catalog this week, featuring an array of 140 exciting classes. Among its new offerings, a fundraiser on September 15 featuring former Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, a Larchmont resident.

According to the Center’s Executive Directory, Blythe Hamer, Mr. Geithner will share his experience during the financial crisis of 2008, lessons he learned, and implications for the future. “We’re excited that our community has this opportunity to hear Tim’s insights,” said Hamer. “We’re also thankful for Tim’s support, which ensures that we can continue to offer affordable classes that draw the community together intellectually and socially.”

All proceeds from the event will benefit The Center for Continuing Education, a not-for-profit that operates independently of the Mamaroneck School District.

“The Center’s goal is to offer opportunities to bring the members of our community together over similar interests,” said Hamer. “The great thing about continuing education is that there’s no homework and no grades. You’ll learn something, meet new people and have fun.”
