Mamaroneck FBLA attends National Leadership Conference
The Mamaroneck Chapter of FBLA traveled to Baltimore for the 2018 National Leadership Conference

Mamaroneck FBLA arrived in hot and humid Baltimore, Maryland on July 20th for the National Leadership Conference.
Twenty members attended the Conference from Mamaroneck High School, and each member placed top four at the New York State Leadership Conference in order to qualify for Nationals. The National Leadership Conference is a tremendous step up from the State Leadership Conference- the competition is more fierce, the workshops are more engaging, and there are over 13,ooo attendees! FBLA Members from nearly all 50 States, as well as members from Puerto Rico, Haiti and China, enjoyed the lovely event.
On July 21st, Institute for Leaders began, and Mamaroneck members had the opportunity to listen to captivating keynote speakers, and sit through a day of workshops focused on strengthening leadership skills and how to implement those skills in the future. The following day was graduation from the Institute for Leaders, some testing for competitions, and Opening Session was that evening.

Opening Session was a great experience and it was amazing to see how many people are in the FBLA community. There was exciting lighting, dancing, and each state was represented on the stage in the "Parade of the States". Shane Feldman told his story of success, and served as the keynote speaker for the night. The candidates for National Office announced their candidacy and gave speeches in front of the large crowd, and each of their campaigns began.
The following day was time for competition. Each Mamaroneck FBLA member worked hard in preparing for the rigorous competition that NLC had to offer in tests and presentation events. Early, the morning of the 30th, members learned who had made it to the final rounds of their events. Mamaroneck FBLA was extremely proud that Hannah Siegel and Phoebe Weiser had made it to the final round of Social Media Campaign, and Maddie Silverstein had made it to the final round of Introduction to Business Presentation. The members would have to present again in order to help the judges determine who the winners would be. At Closing Session, it was announced that, Maddie Silverstein placed 4th in Introduction to Business Presentation.
