
MAMARONECK, NY — The 2017-18 budget for the Mamaroneck Union Free School District passed handily Tuesday. According to unofficial results, there were 1,634 “yes” votes and 491 votes against the budget.
Superintendent Dr. Robert Shaps said this was an important year to get out the vote.
“The budget will provide the appropriate resources to enable us to accommodate increased enrollment and continue the strengthen this extraordinary school district,” he said.

Steven Warner, an incumbent, seeking re-election, and Samuel Orans, a newcomer, ran unopposed for board trustees.
