Mamaroneck High School Musicians Selected for All-State

Students were also chosen for the county festival.

MAMRONECK, NY — A record number of Mamaroneck Union Free School District students have been chosen to perform at this year’s All-State Music Festival in Rochester.

According to a district spokeswoman, eight students were accepted for 12 slots in ensembles at the festival which will be held Dec. 1-4.

Additionally, 34 MHS students were chosen to perform in the Westchester County Area All-State Festival.

Dina Madden, coordinator of K-12 music for the district, said she was proud of what the school’s students accomplished.

“The number of students selected to perform in these festivals this year is testament to the exceptionally hard work our students put in and to the talent that we have here in Mamaroneck,” she said.

This year’s All-State acceptances include: Jared Berger, Instrumental Jazz – trumpet; Skyler Lesser-Roy, Mixed Chorus - soprano; Will Fishell, Instrumental Jazz – trumpet; Carly LevinSantalone, Women’s Chorus - soprano; Will Fishell, Wind Ensemble – trumpet; Ian Melamed, Alternate – cello; Ties Jansen, Mixed Chorus – tenor; Spencer Robinson, String Orchestra – double bass; Lucie Le Blanc, Alternate – cello; Benny Rosenzweig, Instrumental Jazz – tenor sax; Skyler Lesser-Roy, Alternate – violin, and Molly Sloane, Women’s Chorus – alto.
Students accepted into the Westchester County Area All-State Festival include: Michayla Baigel, Patricia Ballard, Lauren Barragan, Jared Berger, Alex Birger, Natalie Bunta, Will Fishell, Hannah George, Haruki Gonai, Rosa-Sofia Kaminski, Lucie Le Blanc, Kyle Lefler, Skyler Lesser-Roy, Evan Macaluso, Grace Maffucci, Rebecca Mancuso, Max McLoughlin, Ian Melamed, Samuel Morton, Joshua Nidus, Seamus O'Brien, Sofia Pantigoso, Victoria Revich, Spencer Robinson, Leah Roffman, Atoosa Scheuer, Kevin Shen, Julia Shen, Molly Sloane, Julianne Stowell, Chase Thede, Grant Tucker, and Darcy Tyler, Hayley Weisstuch.

All-State and Area All-State students will be recognized at the Board of Education meeting on November 15. 2016. At that time, the some of the All-State students will perform a special piece for the community.
