Mamaroneck Holding Job Fair For Teaching Substitutes
Prospective applicants can register for the job fair online.

MAMARONECK, NY — The Mamaroneck school district is looking for new substitute teachers for the 2019-20 school year. Potential candidates, both certified and uncertified, can attend the district's first-ever Substitute Teacher Job Fair from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18 in the Mamaroneck High School library.
Jeremy Barker, the assistant superintendent for administration and personnel, said it's important to be prepared with ample substitute coverage throughout the year.
"Hosting job fairs in both the fall and spring will provide us with a more structured approach to recruit substitute teachers," he said. "Lack of adequate classroom coverage causes a ripple effect throughout the system."

State educational regulations allow uncertified substitute teachers to work up to 40 days per year.
