Mamaroneck HS Creates Art Website

An exhibit of new work is on display through Feb. 10.

MAMARONECK, NY — The Mamaroneck High School Art Department created a new website to showcase work by students created in various mediums. With approximately 40 percent of the student body currently enrolled in an art class, the website features more than 100 students pieces, including drawing and painting, design, clay, photography, video and comics and animation.

The site will be updates frequently to enable the broader community to enjoy a range of art produced by students.

Many of the pieces featured on the website can also be seen in person at the “Young Artists on the Rise” 2018 exhibit running through Feb. 10.

The exhibit features a selection of artwork of local high school students from Mamaroneck High School, Maria Regina High School, French American High School of New York and New Rochelle High School.

There will be an opening reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, with an awards ceremony beginning at 5:30 p.m.
