Mamaroneck League of Women Voters Host Forum on Historic Buildings
Attendees will elected get a chance to chat with representatives from Mamaroneck Town, Mamaroneck Village and Larchmont Village.

The League of Women Voters of Larchmont-Mamaroneck is hosting an open forum on Saving Historic Buildings in Larchmont and Mamaroneck on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Mamaroneck Public Library in the Downstairs Community Room.
Two historians and an architect will discuss the history and importance of several local buildings and take questions from the audience. Refreshments will be served after the presentation and attendees will have a chance to chat with the speakers and local elected representatives from Mamaroneck Town, Mamaroneck Village and Larchmont Village.
Speakers include Lynne Crowley, Larchmont Historical Society’s archivist and Town of Mamaroneck’s historian; Peter Fellows, board member and past archivist of the Mamaroneck Historical Society; and George Schieferdecker, Partner at BKSK Architects LLP and architect for Mamaroneck Public Library’s renovation.
“This event was organized in response to public concern over the tearing down of the Gedney House, the sale and closing of the Mamaroneck Playhouse and the uncertain future of the Mamaroneck Fire House, the DeLancey Cooper House and the Larchmont Playhouse,” said Beth Radow, the League’s board member who is organizing the event.
“The goal is to create a dialogue over important buildings in our community and to communicate public sentiment so that it might be incorporated into the long-term use or repurposing of these local treasures,” Radow added.
