Mamaroneck Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash In Orange County

The fatal accident on Route 17A yesterday afternoon took the life of a 32-year-old Westchester resident.

MAMARONECK, NY —On Wednesday, around 3:10 p.m., a 32-year-old man from Mamaroneck was killed in a motorcycle accident, according to the Town of Warwick police.

Ahmed Shiba was heading north on Route 17A, between Greenwood Lake and Warwick, when he lost control and went off the roadway near Benjamin Meadow Rd.

Shiba was pronounced dead at the scene.

The roadway was closed for 2.5 hours while the Warwick Police Detective Unit and the Orange County Medical Examiner's Office conducted their investigation.

The Town of Warwick Police Department was assisted by the Town of Tuxedo Police Department, Tuxedo EMS and the Greenwood Lake Fire Department.

In a statement released Wednesday, the Town of Warwick Police Department said "our thoughts are with the family and friends" of Shiba.
