Mamaroneck Middle Schoolers Use Technology To Track Reading
The electronic reading log replaces conventional paper and pencil.
MAMARONECK, NY — Mamaroneck school officials are touting the fact that Hommocks Middle School students have read more than 7,000 books so far this school year. They've been tracking their efforts using technology.
The new Hommocks electronic reading log — otherwise known as the "Dashboard" — replaces conventional paper and pencil logs used in previous years to help students track their independent reading and supports the district's literacy goal to promote voluminous, engaged reading for all students across all grades.
School officials suggest taking about five minutes to watch the video above.
