Mamaroneck Passes School Budget
The proposed budget was $133.8 million, an increase of 1.7 percent.

The Proposed 2015-16 Mamaroneck School District budget was passed overwhelmingly by the community Tuesday, according to district officials.
With all precincts reporting, the unofficial tally was 83 percent cast ballots (1,014) voting YES, and 17 percent (215) voted against. The proposed budget was $133.8 million, an increase of 1.7 percent.
“I am proud of our budgets over the past several years and how we’ve been able to balance sound fiscal management with innovative, forwarding thinking educational programs,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Robert Shaps in a statement. “Once again, we appreciate the level of community involvement with the budget process leading up to today and thank all community members who came out to vote.”
