Mamaroneck Police Warn About 'Suspicious' Door-To-Door Salesmen
In the village, solicitors must be vetted and apply for a permit before visiting neighborhoods to sell products or services.

MAMARONECK, NY — Village of Mamaroneck police are warning about suspicious solicitors who are going door-to-door in neighborhoods.
Police are warning the community to not buy any products or services from suspicious solicitors who might knock on the front door. Officials said they have received reports about a person selling window warranties in the Halstead area.
While police did not weigh in on the specific merits of window warranties, they did point out that solicitors in the village need to first be vetted by village hall and apply for a permit before visiting neighborhoods to sell products and services.
