Mamaroneck Received $250K Grant for Sewer Improvements
The funds will ultimately help protect Long Island Sound.
MAMARONECK, NY — The Village of Mamaroneck has been awarded a $250,000 grant that will help the village pay for improvements to its sewage system.
The grant is from the Water Infrastructure Improvement Act, a state program to assist municipalities in funding expensive water infrastructure upgrades.
State Assemblyman Steve Otis said the village put together a successful application for the grant.

“It is crucial that we take the steps necessary to protect families and their water supply,” he said, “and I believe that this grant, and the entire Water Infrastructure Improvement Act, will go a long way toward accomplishing that.”
Officials said the grant will assist the village with its project to reduce sanitary sewer overflow in the West Basin Drainage area, part of Mamaroneck’s program to address inflow and infiltration issues in the system and protect Long Island Sound.
