Mamaroneck Receives National Flood Insurance Program Designation

Under the program, the community was rated an 8, which allows for discounted flood insurance policies that will reduce costs by 5 percent.

The Village of Mamaroneck has received federal commendations under the National Flood Insurance Program’s Community Rating System, Village Manager Richard Singerland announced Wednesday.

Under the program, the community was rated an 8, which allows for discounted flood insurance policies that will reduce costs by 5 percent.

“If your community remains in compliance with NFIP floodplain management regulations, the CRS rating will automatically be renewed annually and a notification letter will not be sent to your community,” wrote David L. Miller, associate administrator of the Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration, in a letter to Singerland. “This renewal will occur as long as your community continues to implement the CRS activities you certify each October.”
