Mamaroneck Residents Nancy and Michael Kanterman honored by UJA-Federation community
Community leaders recognized for philanthropic leadership and commitment.

More than 100 people came together to honor Mamaroneck residents Nancy and Michael Kanterman and celebrate the Larchmont-Mamaroneck’s philanthropic community during a community event sponsored UJA-Federation event. The evening took place on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Larchmont Temple.
Upon retiring in 2008 from her career at Tiffany & Co., Nancy began her journey with UJA-Federation as an event chair for a Larchmont-Mamaroneck Women Philanthropy Opening Coffee. She has enjoyed hands-on experience at many UJA-Federation beneficiary agencies, from the Bronx Jewish Community Council (for which she’s made hundreds of sandwiches for clients) to participating in Westchester relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy. A former UJA-Federation Larchmont-Mamaroneck chair, she now serves as a board member.
Both Nancy and Michael have held various leadership positions at Larchmont Temple. This June marks the 30th anniversary of Michael’s career at Credit Suisse, as well as his retirement from the firm. Going forward, he plans to further his philanthropic and volunteering pursuits.

The gathering heard first-hand stories about the clients UJA-Federation helps support from community leader Joy Zelin of Larchmont.
“The breadth of what we do always moves me, but I’m also inspired by the remarkably innovative ways we tackle very real problems,” said Caren Osten Gerszberg of Larchmont, chair of UJA-Federation’s Larchmont-Mamaroneck Women’s Philanthropy. “And every day, I learn about another initiative so forward-thinking in its approach that I’m amazed.”
