Mamaroneck, Rye Neck School Budget Results

One of the budgets had to have a 60-percent approval for passage.

MAMARONECK, NY — Voters in the Mamaroneck Central School District went to the polls Tuesday to decide whether to pass the budget for the 2018-19 school year. The $138.9 million spending package was approved 1,346 to 383 — or 78 percent to 22 percent — according to unofficial results.

The budget was 2.84 percent above the current year. The tax levy increase is 3.97 percent, which exceeds the allowed tax cap. That meant the budget had to be approved by 60 percent of the voters in order to pass.


Voters in the Rye Neck school district approved their $41.4 million spending package 513 to 153, according to unofficial results.

The budget was 3.13 percent above the current year. The tax levy increase is 3.11 percent.
