Mamaroneck School Turning Leftovers into Compost

The students are also reducing the overall amount of garbage produced at the school.

Hommocks Middle School in Mamaroneck is reducing its garbage by 84 percent thanks, in part, to an industrial-size composter.

WCBS 880 reported that all uneaten cafeteria food from that school is being turned into compost using the Rocket.

School officials said the compost will be used for the school garden and greenhouse.
