Mamaroneck Schools Foundation Junior Triathlon is Back
It was a gorgeous morning filled with community spirit as participants raced the triathlon course cheered on by friends and neighbors.
Under blue skies and ideal course conditions, the Mamaroneck School Foundation’s 15th Annual Junior Triathlon was held on Saturday, September 18. Over 300 racers from 7-13 years enthusiastically swam, biked, and ran to the finish line as community members cheered them on. The celebration continued as the athletes were awarded medals and treats, while a lively DJ provided a festive backdrop for all.
An event of this magnitude requires the coordinated efforts of so many. Triathlon organizers Lindsey Anderson and Becky Gray worked closely with MSF leadership and Elite Feats – a professional race coordinator – to plan the event. Hommocks School custodial staff went over and above to ensure that all was ready for the day’s activities. Over 125 community volunteers, which included families, students, and teachers, together with the professional support provided by Town of Mamaroneck and Village of Larchmont agencies the event ran smoothly and safely.
Robust support also came from local businesses and organizations in the form of generous sponsorships. MSF particularly recognizes Badger Sports Camp, which has faithfully taken on the role of Lead Sponsor for the triathlon for several years, and our Platinum Sponsors: The Hanley Group, Larchmont-Mamaroneck Youth Lacrosse, Larchmont-Mamaroneck Youth Wrestling, Larchmont Police Benevolent Association, Mamaroneck Youth Football League, Mamaroneck Youth Hockey Association, The Oberman Companies, Tequila Sunrise, and Zoffness College Prep.

Jackie Emmet, President of MSF had this to say about the day: “It feels so great that we were able to assemble the community once again to enjoy this wonderful event. It is inspiring to see all of the planning come together due to the hard efforts of so many people and rewarding to see everyone smiling.”
The Mamaroneck Schools Foundation is a not-for-profit organization whose goal is to enhance the quality of public education in Larchmont and Mamaroneck by engaging the support of the community.
