Organizers said more than 1,000 people either participated or attended the event.

MAMARONECK, NY — More than 300 students swam, biked, and ran in the 12th Annual Mamaroneck Schools Foundation Junior Triathlon. Students, who ranged in age from 7 to 13, completed a challenging course to cross the finish line Sept. 16 at Hommocks Middle School, where they were welcomed by a crowd of parents and friends.

“This is a wonderful and important event that encourages our kids to be healthy, fit, and goal-setters,” said Carolyn Lee, who co-chaired the event with Tricia DeLaMora.
