Mamaroneck Woman Dies From Fire Injuries

The blaze was contained to the woman's apartment on Richbell Road Saturday.

MAMARONECK, NY — A 52-year-old Mamaroneck woman died Monday from injuries sustained in a fire in her apartment.

Mamaroneck village police said the woman suffered severe burns and smoke inhalation during the Saturday night fire on Richbell Road, the Journal News reported.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead early Monday morning.

Other residents of the apartment, including village Mayor Tom Murphy, broke one of the apartment's windows and firefighters were able to pull the woman out, News 12 reported.

Fire officials ruled the blaze was an accident.
