Meet Mamaroneck's New Teachers
With a week before classes start, Patch introduces the school district's newest faculty members.
With the 2010-2011 school year starting next week, 'new' seems to be a common word floating around Mamaroneck. Over the summer, the Mamaroneck Union Free School District transitioned over to a new Superintendent of schools and hired an interim principal at Mamaroneck High School, while also focusing on renovation work at Hommocks Middle School and the construction of an athletic turf field at the high school campus. On top of all of this, the district is opening the doors of their six schools to welcome in 22 new teachers for the upcoming year.
Patch headed to a new teacher luncheon being held in the cafe at Mamaroneck High School, where new faculty members were asked to introduce themselves to the community and talk about their excitement as they prepare for the first back to school day.
In today's video installment (part 1 of 2), get to know the new faces at Mamaroneck High School and Hommocks Middle School. While not featured in the video, Mamaroneck High School will also be welcoming Christa Liotta (AIS/Literacy), Kristen DeRienzo (Special Education) and Patricia Crowley (Special Education) to the staff at MHS this year.
Be sure to check back soon for our intro of the new members of the education community from Central School, Chatsworth Avenue School, Mamaroneck Avenue School and Murray Avenue School.
