Music in the Manor Features Grammy Award-winning Attacca Quartet
Works of Mendelssohn on Sunday, May 3 at St. John's Episcopal Church

Two-time Grammy Award winning ATTACCA QUARTET will be performing a special concert featuring the music of siblings Fanny (Mendelssohn) Hensel and Felix Mendelssohn, as part of the Music in the Manor concert series. As with other events in this series, the performance will give the audience a unique opportunity to be part of a live music performance in an intimate setting.
The Attacca Quartet, as described by The Nation, “lives in the present aesthetically, without rejecting the virtues of the musical past”, and is recognized and acclaimed as one of the most versatile and outstanding ensembles of the moment — a true quartet for modern times. Gliding through traditional classical repertoire to electronica, video game music and contemporary collaborations, they are one of the world's most innovative and respected ensembles.
Siblings Fanny (Mendelssohn) Hensel and Felix Mendelssohn were both extraordinary composers shaped by the same rich musical upbringing, and today their works are increasingly celebrated side by side as complementary voices of equal imagination and brilliance.
