Najia’s Esthetic Skin and Laser Center Is Ready For You
Owner and esthetician Najia Rohlf opened her Mamaroneck Avenue practice in May.
Moroccans strive for flawless skin, and native Najia Rohlf is no different. The esthetician owned a private practice in White Plains for 11 years before she decided she needed more space for her center. She struck gold when State Farm Insurance closed earlier this year. Rohlf bought the space, and 157 Mamaroneck Ave. is now home to Najia's Esthetic Skin and Laser Center.
Although many of Rohlf's White Plains customers now frequent her Mamaroneck location, she hopes the center's new address will attract other faces, as well.
Jessica Rivera, another esthetician at the center, thinks this is the perfect occupation for her and Rohlf. "We both love skin and makeup," she said.

Rivera also works as the manager and receptionist.
Although the center has been open since May, its grand opening is scheduled for either the end of September or the beginning of October. In addition to Rohlf and Rivera, the staff includes a massage therapist and several doctors. These medics administer Botox treatments.

Rohlf uses the skin care line CosMedix, which is also available at Oasis Day Spa in Dobbs Ferry. Basic treatments, such as facials, waxes, tans and massages, are popular among clients. Yet the practice also performs laser hair removal, IPL (Intense Photo Light) facials and chemical peels.
Some clients opt for a microdermabrasion or a mechanical exfoliation, instead of a chemical peel, Rivera says. This treatment removes damaged skin with light crystals, so clients avoid all contact with chemicals. Dermatologists can administer similar treatments, she adds, but at Rohlf's practice the procedure is not only faster, but there is also no downtime following treatment.
"The microdermabrasion, which only takes half an hour, is best done in a series," Rivera said. "By the end, your skin is smooth and has an even glow and tone."
Facials begin at $100. Laser and IPL consultations are recommended before treatment, and these appointments are free of charge. Rivera said that laser hair removal, which promises to be permanent, can be performed on all areas of the face, except for the eyebrows. To ensure prime results, customers should expect six to eight laser sessions.
The practice also sells Jane Iredale makeup. These are mineral products that protect the skin. In addition to CosMedix, Rohlf carries other skin care lines, like Glotherapeutics and Biogenesis.
