New Rochelle Woman Arrested For Felony DWI In Mamaroneck

The drunk driver refused to submit to a breath test to determine the alcohol content in her system, according to New York State Police.

MAMARONECK, NY — A prior conviction meant that a traffic stop on the New England Thruway resulted in a felony charge.

On Tuesday, at approximately 10:15 p.m., state police stopped a vehicle on I-95 in the town of Mamaroneck. Troopers said the driver, Demi Torres, 28, of New Rochelle, was intoxicated. Torres was taken into custody and processed at SP New Rochelle, where she refused to submit to a breath test to determine the alcohol content in her system, New York State Police officials said.

Torres has a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years and because of this, was later charged with felony driving while intoxicated. She was released to a sober third party with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Mamaroneck Court on August 22.
