
Mamaroneck resident Ashton Springer, a well-known Broadway producer, passed away from pneumonia last week, the NY Times reported this weekend. He was 82.
According to the Times, Springer was one of the first high-profile black producers on Broadway and was known for shows like “Bubbling Brown Sugar,” “Eubie!” and Athol Fugard’s “A Lesson From Aloes."
