Palmer Avenue Streetscape Suffers Further Delays

The $1.7 million Larchmont street project is being further delayed.

The Village of Larchmont has suspended work on the Palmer Avenue Streetscape project until May 20, according to a message on their website, due to circumstances beyond the village's control.

The project—which was originally scheduled to begin in October 2012—was delayed due to weather as well as insurance and state paperwork filings that needed to be in place before work could begin.

Residents of the Pine Brook section of Larchmont have complained that construction equipment is taking up space in the newly renovated Pine Brook Park, preventing the use of a Tee Ball court and presenting a hazard to children. Village officials have said the equipment will remain there until the project is completed, which is expected to take five months.
