Plates to Host Prix-Fixe, Napa Valley Wine-Paired Dinner on Feb. 2, 2016
Wines from Flora Springs Winery will accompany dinner.

A prix-fixe, wine-coupled dinner will be offered by Plates in Larchmont on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 with seating at 7 p.m. The cost is $85 per person plus tax and tip.
Flora Spring’s vineyards (650 acres) date back to the 19th century. The current winery was founded by Jerry and Flora Komes in 1978 and is now a family operation that includes the participation their grandchildren.
Under the direction of winemaker Paul Steinauer, the winery employs stainless steel and concrete fermenters sized to match blocks on the estate’s vineyards. Beyond the stone archway of the cellar lie 1,000 linear feet of caves carved into the hillside that provide an exceptional energy efficient environment for the aging of wine.

The food, to be prepared under the direction of Executive Chef Matthew Karp, includes:
- Starter: Chilled oysters, Zabaione and caviar
- Second course: Tagliattele with veal ragu, roasted tomatoes, wild mushrooms, pancetta and poached egg
- Third course: Black truffle risotto, beef short ribs and roasted parsnip
- Fourth course: Lamb loin, zucchini, curried vegetables and tomato fondue
