Plaza Bootery Owner Arrested On Three Additional Charges

Plaza Bootery owner Lee Mendes was arrested twice last week for harassment, issuing a bad check and criminal possession of stolen property.

Plaza Bootery owner Lee Mendes, 46, was arrested twice last week on three separate charges.

On Mar. 6, Mendes was arrested and charged with second-degree harassment, a violation, for repeatedly threatening another person.  He was arraigned and remanded on $450 bail, according to Larchmont police.

Later that week, on Mar. 11, Mendes was arrested again and charged with issuing a bad check, a class B misdemeanor, after he attempted to cash a check in the amount of $150 against a closed account.  Mendes was arraigned and remanded to Westchester County Jail in Valhalla on $5,000 bail.

Mendes was also charged with criminal possession of stolen property on Mar. 11 after Larchmont detectives executed a search warrant and recovered property reported stolen by the owner of Love by Bella Fiora on Mar. 10.

No bail was set for the second charge.

The owner of Love by Bella Fiora—a Larchmont store on 1912 Palmer Ave. located next door to Plaza Bootery—reported to Larchmont police that her store was broken into overnight and property valued at $3,600 was stolen.

Mendes was previously arrested on and charged with second-degree trademark counterfeiting and two felony charges of third-degree robbery.  In early January, investigators from the Westchester District Attorney’s office obtained a search warrant and confiscated counterfeit Uggs and North Face jackets.
