California Man Offers Kidney, Truck For Help Saving Dying Wife

SANGER, CA -- When Verlon Robinson promised to love and cherish his wife for the rest of his life, he meant it. The California resident recently made a plea on Facebook offering his truck and kidney for a piece of someone's liver to help his dying wife.

Marie Robinson was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver three years ago, according to Fox26. She'll need a transplant to help her survive the disease, which is why Verlon took it to Facebook.

"To all that don’t know I have a very sick wife with a non-reversible liver disease," Verlon wrote. "We have been married for 25 years and it breaks my heart when I think about losing her. I would do anything to trade places with her but as you know that’s impossible."

Verlon wrote that he's willing to give up his 2004 Dodge pickup truck, a tent trailer and a kidney for anyone willing to donate a piece of their liver. The donor will need to have a blood type of O or negative, he wrote.
