Serious MVA on I-95 Has Been Cleared
Police confirmed one vehicle extrication; right lane now open.
At around 8 a.m. this morning, New York State Thruway Police reported a serious motor vehicle accident on the right lane of northbound I-95. The vehicle involved was pinned against the guardrail and the victim has been removed from the vehicle and taken to a nearby hospital, police said. A 20-foot truck was involved.
The accident took place at mile 11.4, between exits 18b (White Plains/Mamaroneck Avenue) and 19 (Playland/Rye). The right lane was blocked for an hour and a half. It is now open and traffic is back to normal.
