The Spooky Weekend Ahead For Larchmont And Mamaroneck
A potion for fun calls for equal parts Ragamuffin Parade, Village Spooktacular, pumpkin painting, 'Thriller' dance and eye of newt.
LARCHMONT/MAMARONECK, NY — You might encounter an unusual number of goblins and zombies in the area this weekend as terrifying and adorable pre-Halloween festivities get into full swing.
On Saturday, Oct. 22, the Village of Larchmont's Ragamuffin Parade will kick off at 3 p.m. Children of all ages are invited to show off their Halloween costumes and parade down Larchmont Ave. The lineup will bein at 2:30 p.m. at the corner of Larchmont Ave. and Palmer Ave. The parade will start at 3 p.m. sharp and end at Larchmont Village Hall with a DJ and refreshments. No rain date has been scheduled.

On Sunday, Oct. 23, the Village of Mamaroneck will be holding its Spooktacular, from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
- It all starts with trick-or-treat bags available at Mama Village Rx at 10 a.m.
- The Village of Mamaroneck's Ragamuffin Parade will kick off at 11 a.m. on Mamaroneck Ave, between Enzo's and Smashburger.
- At 11:45 a.m., The School of Rock and Artistree will perform and you will be able to learn how to dance the "Thriller."
- From 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., children will be able to trick-or-treat on the Ave. and Boston Post Rd. Balloon artists will be on the Ave. Face painting will be available at Red Plum and Allstate. Spooky tattoos will be available at Nonna Carola and Harbour Fish Restaurant.
- Pumpkin painting (reservations are filled up) and story time/book signing with author John Traecy Egan will take place at the Mamaroneck Library, from 3 p.m.- 4 p.m.
There will even be a convenient Spooktacular Trolley for costumed patrons from noon until 4 p.m. Pick-ups/drop-offs will be in front of the Marine Education Center, Valley Bank and Smashburger.

Dress to impress because there will also be a best costume contest and a best pet costume contest.
Restaurants in the area will offer Spooktacular lunch specials.
Parking will be free at Harbor Island Park. However, there will be no Halloween activities in Harbor Island during this year's Spooktacular.
