State Senate Candidate Joe Dillon Grapples with Foreclosure, Liens: Report

Dillon seeks to represent Larchmont and Mamaroneck, and his spokesman says the candidate has never tried to hide from his "financial crisis"

Republican State Senate candidate Joe Dillon is facing foreclosure on his Yonkers home and recently has had two tax liens filed against him, according to a report in The Journal News.

Dillon, who is running for the 37th District seat held by incumbent Democrat George Latimer, says he paid off one lien and is disputing another. Combined the liens totaled $8,000. The foreclosure in ongoing, but his spokesman says Dillon has never tried to hide from his “financial crisis.”

From Dillon spokesman T.J. McCormack: “Joe Dillon has always been willing to have a discussion about the fact that he, like so many others in Westchester, was a victim of the financial crisis. In fact, it was a central part of his speech when he announced his candidacy. Joe has never hidden from the story that he lost his job and a 20 year career during the financial crisis. With it went any severance, financial security and peace of mind. This is not just Joe’s story. It is the story of thousands of Westchester residents.”
