Stop & Shop To Offer 30-Minute Grocery Delivery In NY
The grocery chain has partnered with Instacart to offer 30-minute delivery for a limited number of staples and convenience items.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — A new partnership between Stop & Shop and Instacart might let shoppers in New York get kitchen staples delivered to their front door faster than they could get to the supermarket and back.
The Stop & Shop Express service is intended to replace weekly shopping, but could let someone have a shaker of Parmesan cheese delivered to the table while the lasagna is baking in the oven. Stop & Shop Express will allow customers to shop for groceries, convenience items and select household essentials and have those items delivered in as fast as 30 minutes. Stop & Shop is the first grocery retailer in the Northeast to make this service available with Instacart, according to the retailer.
The service is described as perfect for when a home chef forgets the key ingredient in a recipe, a new mom runs out of diapers, or when a specific late night snack craving catches us with an empty cupboard. Shoppers will be able to choose from more than 30,000 convenience items, including prepared foods, snacks, beverages, paper goods, cleaners and baby products through Stop & Shop Express.

Stop & Shop Express will join Instacart’s "Convenience Hub." Convenience delivery allows customers to access a limited numbers of essential items in as fast as 30 minutes.
Stop & Shop first partnered with Instacart in 2017 to offer customers same-day delivery. In July 2020, the grocer expanded its availability on Instacart to 321 stores, making same-day, contactless delivery available from more than 75 percent of its locations in North America.
This is the first time, however, that the grocery has promised 30-minute delivery.
“We’re proud to expand our long-standing partnership with Stop & Shop to provide customers with an unmatched convenience delivery offering,” Instacart VP Chris Rogers said. “From a last minute baking or dinner ingredient to toothpaste and paper goods, we’re thrilled to give customers an easier and faster way to access their convenience shopping needs. As part of our deepened partnership, we’re excited to introduce Stop & Shop Express and continue to provide an online grocery experience that is effortless, accessible and affordable for customers.”
