Summer Nights on the Sound is organized by the Village of Mamaroneck Arts Council.

MAMARONECK, NY — Summer Nights on the Sound, Mamaroneck's free concert series at Harbor Island Park, has lined up a mix of entertainers for July with plenty of great music for everyone, starting on Independence Day, the Village of Mamaroneck Arts Council announced. As organizer of the series, the Arts Council invites everyone to bring blankets and lawn chairs to the events and pack a picnic or get treats from several area food trucks that will visit the park for the concerts.
The line-up is as follows:
Tuesday, July 4: St. Thomas Orchestra (www.storchestra.org) will perform during the Fire Department’s 70th Annual Carnival (June 27 -July 5). The music starts at 8 p.m. when the Soundettes, a four-part women’s a cappella ensemble based in Larchmont, sings The Star-Spangled Banner. The evening finishes with the spectacular annual fireworks show off the beach. Under the baton of Bernard Tamosaitis, the orchestra is celebrating 15 years of excellence in presenting the majesty of symphonic music while making it accessible to everyone. Rain date for concert is July 5. Listen here.
Each of three Sunday performances in July will start at 7 p.m. (No rain dates.) The bands will be as follows:
July 16: The Bensen-Scott Big Band brings to life the smooth and brassy sounds of 1940s swing, blending it with New York and Latin jazz, to create a sound that is timeless and fresh. (bsbbny.com) Listen here.
July 23: Indie-folk powerhouse Scott Wolfson and Other Heroes will get the place rocking with their get-up-and-boogie folk-pop-rock swagger. (scottwolfson.com) Listen here.
